Monteverde Coffee Tour Includes:
- * 1 Hour guided tour of the Don Juan coffee farm from growing to roasting including a cup of coffee
- * 30 Minute guided tour of the Don Juan chocolate farm & processing including tasting
- * Sugar cane demonstration & tasting
- * Ride on a traditional Costa Rican Painted Ox Cart
Optional: Round-trip transportation from most Cerro Plano, Santa Elena & Monteverde Hotels is available for $5 per person. Please select at checkout.
Optional: Traditional hot lunch (casado) with your choice of beef, chicken, or veggie option with rice, beans, salad, picadillo, & fried plantains with natural fruit juice and dessert for just $12 per person.
Departures: The Don Juan coffee tour in Monteverde operates 4 times daily at 8:00am, 10:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm. If you choose the 5:30 pm meeting time, it will be the nocturnal hike. If you choose the optional transportation, hotel pickups begin around 30 minutes prior to the tour start time. Exact meeting instructions will be provided on your confirmation voucher.

Children: All ages welcome! Children 6 and under are free with paying adult. Children ages 7 to 12 pay a discounted child rate.
Restrictions: There are really no restrictions. Nearly all the trails at the Don Juan Coffee Farm are both wheelchair and stroller accessible. Please notify us in advance of any limitations you may have so we can be sure to accommodate you.
Insider Tip: This is a great family activity in the Monteverde Cloud Forest region of Costa Rica. You get to learn a lot about the importance of coffee in Costa Rica culture, and there is a lot of hands-on activities for the kids (and the kid in you) that everyone will enjoy. The trails are super flat and protected, so whether you are pushing a wheelchair or a stroller, you can navigate the Don Juan coffee farm with ease. However, note that this is the cloud forest and the weather can change multiple times each day, so be prepared to get wet, but also take in some sunshine too.
