Finca Modelo Tree Climbing & Monteverde Night Walk Details
Monteverde Night Tour Includes:
- * Access to the Finca Modelo private nature trails (Same cloud forest, less crowds)
- * Professional bilingual (English & Spanish) naturalist guides
- * Waterproof flashlight
- * Helmet, harness and all safety equipment and instruction for Ficus tree climbing in the cloud forest
- * Dinner at the onsite restaurant, including delicious grill and wood-fired pizza options
Departures: Daily from Finca Modelo at 5:00 pm. Hotel transportation begins around 4:30 pm and is available for an additional $8 USD per person. Exact meeting time and instructions will be provided on your confirmation voucher.
Length: Approximately 3-4 hours.
Monteverde Night Tour Recommendations:
- * Dark colored clothing to help you blend into the forest
- * Sturdy secure tennis shoes or light hiking boots
- * Rain poncho or lightweight rain jacket
- * Eco-friendly insect repellent
- * Reusable bottle of water (you can refill on site)
- * Fully charged phone or camera (waterproof casing recommended)
- * Cash for tour balance, souvenirs, & tips for your guides and wait staff at the restaurant
Children: The minimum suggested age for the Monteverde night walk is 6 years old. However, for the Ficus tree climbing portion, children must fit securely in the safety harness. Smaller children, particularly those under 8, may not be able to participate in the tree-climbing activity.
Restrictions: You must be in good physical condition and able to fit into the safety equipment in order to participate in the Ficus tree-climbing portion of the night hike. Maximum group size is 10 people for your safety as well as personal attention from the guides. If you are not comfortable with the Ficus tree-climbing activity, you will still have a wonderful view of the sunset and a great adventure exploring the cloud forest after dark.
Insider Tip: This is probably one of the coolest night tours in Costa Rica because it combines two experiences that you don't normally get together. The Ficus tree climbing at sunset is an adventure all by itself, but seeing the tree illuminated from the inside makes it even more spectacular.
And then there's dinner! With many ingredients sourced from the farm right at Finca Modelo, this makes a pretty great evening for an adventurous couple — or a family looking for something different to do in Monteverde.
