Restrictions: Great news! Carara National Park was one of Costa Rica's first national parks to make paved trails accessible to all mobility levels. You will still need to have enough mobility to get in and out of the boat from a ramp though. The Tarcoles River crocodiles are very unique to this region, and so are the Scarlet macaws at Carara National Park. You can see the crocodiles from the Tarcoles bridge. And, you can visit Carara park on your own. But really, both experiences are a million times better with a guide. And being on the river along side an 18 foot crocodile really is an unbeatable rush.
